This yummy sounding recipe came from a very good friend of the family. Her daughter and I were more like sisters growing up.
Junior is going to make this for Christmas dinner because . . . it sounds good and it looks fairly simple.
Plus I like them being able to take part in the preparations.
Banana Split Salad
1 large cool whip
1 can Eagle brand milk
1 can cherry pie filling
1 can crushed pineapple -- (8 ounce) drained
3 bananas sliced
½ cup chopped nuts
Mix well and refrigerate.
Ok this is a pretty shade or pink from the cherries and cool whip. Since I am not really big on bananas (I don't like real banana splits) I was afraid I wouldn't like this. But it is good! Everyone (even me) liked it. It was a bit too sweet to be a salad for normal meals, I would serve it as dessert then.
Junior sliced the banana on his own, so he practiced knife skills using a table knife. The rest of it was just dump in the bowl and stir.
